What a session feels like
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-just-above) energy practice — you stay fully clothed, lying comfortably, while I work to support your body’s own energetic balance. Many people describe a sense of warmth, deep relaxation, or a kind of settling they can’t quite put words to. Some sessions include intuitive insight alongside the energy work itself, depending on what comes up.
How it pairs with bodywork
This work pairs beautifully with a massage or craniosacral session — many clients build it into a longer appointment – or it stands entirely on its own as its own session.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to believe in energy work for it to help?
No particular belief is required — plenty of clients come in simply curious or looking for deep relaxation, and that’s a completely valid reason on its own.
What’s the difference between reiki and massage?
Massage works directly with muscle tissue through touch and pressure. Reiki works with the energy at play, using very light or no-contact touch. All of my massage sessions include reiki, but in a purely reiki session I have more capacity to focus on the intuition and energy. During a massage, I feel more like a cat making biscuits – the reiki is the purring part, there in a happy way, but I’m mostly paying attention to the physical concerns.
Does distance Reiki actually work the same as in-person?
Yes! The healing energy exists within, but is not limited by, our normal sense of 3-D time and space. Most clients can feel the energy quite clearly at a distance, and the results are the same. Because both in-person and distance sessions are offered, please be sure to choose carefully when scheduling.
What is your Reiki lineage?
I recieved my Usui Reiki attunements up to Reiki Master level from Jennifer Dawn. Jennifer emphasizes direct relationship with the energies themselves, and does not participate in formal certification. If you know her work, you know that she walks the talk, which is the most important thing to me. I don’t emphasize any ritual, symbols or specific cultural elements associated with Reiki because I am wary of orthodoxy, dogma and sectarianism. I believe in practice-based spirituality and constant accountability. The important part is that you feel the results of my connection with the energy and that you benefit from it.
Is this confidential?
Yes, the same as any other kind of session.
What should I expect emotionally?
Reactions vary quite a bit – some sessions feel purely relaxing, others bring up something unexpected. Whatever comes up, we create a safe place to feel it, let it pass, and emerge better off.
